The Breast Archives is the first of its kind. Featuring a diverse group of women, this documentary paints an intimate portrait of these women’s experiences of puberty, their sexuality, cancer, shame and the interplay between their relationships with their breasts and religion, culture and media.
The importance and relevance of this project cannot be understated: We’re breaking the silence. Never before has there been an outlet for women to openly discuss these memories – not to mention the insights they’ve earned on their journeys.
By nurturing these alternative narratives, we are challenging the mainstream caricatured depictions of breasts and providing role models that will inspire other women to speak out. We are cultivating a loving affection between women and their breasts–
